Apart from taking home the award for Best Female Solo Artist at the Brits on Wednesday, Adele took the opportunity to let the world know that she supports her fellow musician Kesha. The pop diva first said it was an honor being nominated alongside all the other female singers and thanked her management and record label, ending her acceptance speech by saying that she ‘would also like to take this moment to publicly support Kesha.’
By voicing her support, Adele joined a growing number of prominent celebrities who used their voices to back Kesha in her legal battle against her producer Dr. Luke, whom the singer accused of emotionally and sexually abusing her. Dr. Luke has, on the other hand, denied all allegations, claiming that he had never raped Kesha nor had sex with her.
Though various high-profile musicians have expressed their opinion on the matter and stood by Kesha’s side, it’s also important to note that 20 pop stars either didn’t want to comment or didn’t respond when BuzzFeed asked them if they would consider working with Dr. Luke in the future.
