21 Celebrities You Didn’t Know Were From Alabama

When you think of Alabama, you might not necessarily think of celebrities, but believe it or not, there are a bunch of famous people who come from this fine state.

Here is a list of 21 famous people you probably had no idea were Alabamians.

Mostly thanks to the movie Magic Mike, Channing Tatum is now one of the most desired male Hollywood actors. The hunky actor, who is also a model (well, of course he is), dancer and movie producer, was born in 1980 in Cullman, Alabama, and is definitely a great pride and joy of this Southern state, even though he moved to Mississippi when he was six.

Tatum’s debut role was in Coach Carter, but his real breakthrough came with Step Up in 2005, a movie that showcased his admirable dancing skills and launched him to stardom. But it wasn’t until Magic Mike in 2012 that Tatum gained the status he enjoys today – a male sex symbol and People magazine’s Sexiest Man Alive for 2012. Channing didn’t let fame get to his head, according to those who are in the know. He’s still the laid-back, relaxed, funny dude he was back in his sweet home Alabama.
