21 Celebrities Who Died Of Cancer

Cancer is scary because it doesn’t pick and choose who it attacks. Celebrities are people just like you and me, which means that cancer is as scary to them as it is to us, despite the fact that they might have more money to treat it.

Here is a list of famous people who battled cancer and unfortunately, ended up losing the fight.

In 2009, the world was shocked at the news of Farrah Fawcett’s death of colorectal cancer. One of the biggest TV stars of the 1970s and 1980s, Fawcett was also a sex symbol for all time. She will always be remembered not only for her iconic red swimsuit poster but also as one of the original Charlie’s Angels, and probably everyone’s favorite angel.

Fawcett was first diagnosed with rectal cancer in 2006. She underwent surgery to remove the tumor, followed by chemotherapy. Four months later, she was considered cancer-free. Unfortunately, the cancer came back a year later. Her doctors wanted to remove a piece of her colon and introduce a colostomy, which she refused and opted for alternative treatment in Germany instead.

After years of fighting cancer, which metastasized to her liver, Fawcett died in a Los Angeles hospital, surrounded by her husband Ryan O’Neal, and her longtime friend Alana Stewart. She is buried at the Westwood Village Memorial Park in LA.
