Yesterday, we lost another star from the world of music. Pop and funk icon Prince died at the age of 57 at his studio in Minnesota. The cause of his untimely death is yet to be determined by an autopsy, which will be performed later today.
Prince, who masterfully incorporated various elements from pop, soul, funk, R&B, rock and jazz into his unique sound, will be remembered for mega-hits such as ‘Purple Rain’ and ‘When Doves Cry.’
Sadly, Prince is not the only music legend who passed away this year. In the final days of 2015, Lemmy Kilmister of Motorhead died, followed by Natalie King Cole and rock star David Bowie. Then Glenn Frey from the Eagles died, as well as Maurice White from Earth, Wind & Fire and country music starMerle Haggard.
The world hadn’t yet recovered from the shock of losing such influential music figures when the tragic news of Prince’s passing emerged online. Today, celebrities and fans alike are mourning the death of another musician who was larger than life.
